The Fr. George Hess Memorial Literary Competitions (Nationals) 2023 took place on the 5th of November 2023 at Xavier University, Bhubaneswar. A total of 19 students represented ASISC WB & NE States at this esteemed national event. They were accompanied by 4 teachers from different schools. Some of the participating schools were The Heritage School, Calcutta Public School, DPS Megacity, DPS Newtown, Sri Sri Academy, Garden High School, Young Horizons School, Adamas International School among others. All the participants and the escort teachers reached the venue on the 4th and were provided accommodation in the hostel.

The events were conducted at different venues simultaneously. The prize distribution ceremony was held after all the events were completed. In Quiz, the winners in all three categories were from WB & NE States. For debate, Preyashi Agarwal from The Heritage School won the third prize for Best Speaker for the Motion. Aritrika Majhi from Douglas Memorial Higher Secondary School was the winner for the Junior Painting Competition and the winner for the Sub – Junior Painting Competition was from St. Xavier’s School, Panihati. It was an enriching experience for all the students. They made new friends and created memories to last a lifetime.
