Capt P M Pradhan completed his graduation from Delhi University and Post Graduation from North Bengal University. He joined the Indian Army as a Commissioned Officer into the Regiment of Artillery. On completion of service, he took up the reign of Rockvale Academy, Kalimpong as the Principal in 1997. He immediately upgraded the school to ISC and also founded the tertiary division, The Rockvale Management College affiliated to the prestigious Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology ( MAKAUT) in 2002.

He has held the post of both Vice President and the President of the ASISC (West Bengal and North East Chapter).

He was on the panel of Inspectors of the CISCE Board for schools seeking affiliation and upgradation. Besides, he was also a member of the Standing Committee of the CISCE Board from 2014 till 2021.

He is a recipient of many awards for contribution in the field of Education in the Hills - the most promising being the " Bhanu Puraskar " conferred by the Indo- Nepal Friendship Forum in 2018 and the " North Bengal Icon Award " by Dainik Jagran group of newspapers in 2019 .

He loves music, sports and travelling .
