In Loving Memory of Mr. Herbert George

The passing away of Mr Herbert George is virtually the end of an era for our Association. For years together, Mr George, Alex, Somnath and Chittoda strove to formalise it and give it momentum. Alex has left Bengal, and Chittoda has left us quite sometime back. But Mr George soldiered on, and it is no small feat, that, despite his age, he continued as Principal of M P Birla and dealt with issues with the zeal and energy that would put a much younger person to shame.

I remember our meetings more often than not in Dalhousie Institute at his behest, or at Dalhousie Club at Chittoda's initiative, or at Alex's school in Tangra. Even if our numbers were small, there was no dearth of mirth and merriment.

Mr George's innings as leader of our Association was chequered. Always approachable, he paved the way for what was to come later on. He will always be remembered for his effusive personality and the guidance he offered many up and coming schools. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

Mr. Herbert George - In loving memory & homage

Our mornings will never be the same
As they always began with your heartfelt wishes
Our gatherings we cherished when we celebrated with you
The poignant memories will live on forever in our hearts
Yet it is true that
Life is the greatest gift that God has given us
Death is the only bridge towards eternal life with God
We will never forget you....

Mr. Nabarun De - In loving memory & homage

Words may not be enough to express the heartfelt sorrow that I feel for the passing away of a dear friend and colleague.
My deepest condolences to his family and I pray to the Almighty to give them the strength and courage to cope with this loss.

Gone is the face we loved so dear
Silent is the voice we loved to hear
Too far away for sight or speech
But not too far for our thoughts to reach

In Loving Memory of Mr. Nabarun De

Death might have taken you from us
But Death cannot seperate you from us
The ravishes of time cannot erase your foot prints which you have left behind

The good lord has blessed us with a friend like you
Ever smiling, ever courteous and ever obliging
You have left us with so many happy memories
These memories will keep us binded for ever

You were a stoic, a lion hearted and fearless
You were a leader unmatched, resolute yet accomodating
You were a visionary who looked beyond your age
You were a face of a common man, a friend to shoulder friends responsibilities

You are there in God's heavenly abode
Looking upon us and interceding our prayers to the almighty
You are an inspiration and an institution
We will always cherish the memories when we were together
Till we meet to live together till eternity.

Good bye dada ????

ASISC WB & NE STATES GREEN DAY

ASISC WB & NE STATES CELEBRATES GREEN DAY ON THE BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF MR. NABARUN DE , 20TH DECEMER, 2020 TO COMMEMORATE HIS CONTRIBUTIONS.

...
In Obeisance of A Visionary Educationist

The sudden demise of a most dignified persona  Mr Nabarun De, Principal of Central Modern School Baranagar and an Executive member of the CISCE council has left us all bereft.

The void created in his absence in the field of education can hardly be replete in future.

He had been an asset to the society with his dynamic and path-breaking policies to modernize the education system. ‘A friend, guide and philosopher’ in nature he never hesitated from meeting challenges and bringing favourable solution to all problems. To work with such a colossal figure was a privilege for everyone. Personally I found him very gentle, exuberant and a good human being with a philanthropic mindset. He had phenomenally remodelled the approach to child-centric education policies and many other fields connected to uplift the society. Whenever  in need of right guidance I found him beside me overflowing with innovative ideas and advices. There will be no substitute to such an amicable personality and Head of an esteemed institution.

With a heavy heart I extend my prayers for the eternal repose of an erudite man who will be cherished in our memories forever.

A Note - In Prayer & Thanks Giving

Friends

The last one year has been devastating for the world and for all of us in Bengal, because of the spread of the Covid 19 pandemic, consequent physical closure of schools with often dire consequences for many of us, and the after effects of the super-cyclone Amphan.

With the passage of time, things may improve. But, unfortunately, in the midst of these catastrophic events, we have also many of our near and dear ones, largely but not entirely because of the pandemic and also its crippling effect on the public health eco-system.

The school fraternity has lost many of its brightest and most promising stars. Other than Mr Nabarun De, whose untimely demise is an irreparable loss for our association, we have lost many others, teachers, staff members,  Heads and Management Members among them.

As a mark of our deepest respect, we are remembering many of our association members in our website. We really wish they were amongst us today, but Providence has ruled otherwise.

We pledge that the cause our torch- bearers lived and strove for will continue to inspire us and we shall work tirelessly and dedicate ourselves anew to the  noble ideal of education for our children, so that our tomorrow may be better than our today.

In prayer and thanksgiving,

ASISC WB & NE STATES GREEN DAY 2022

The Green day at Akshar school was celebrated with a humble assemblage of students and teachers standing to pay honour to Mr. Nabarun De. With the spirit of ‘Earth Day Everyday’, the students conducted a short programme. They spoke about how we can practice and maintain afforestation and reforestation in our city, Kolkata. They discussed the Padrshree winner Tulsi Gowda also known as “Encyclopaedia of the Forest”. A round of quiz on environment was conducted. The students who answered correctly were given beautiful houseplants in little pots. The programme was concluded with a song originally composed by a student called `The way you’re living’ which called upon the youth of today to take a stand and alter the ways of living and give the earth a chance to heal herself. At last a diya was lit while the students planted a tree. All students were given one plant to take home, just like how nature gives to all, of all kinds.
